How many of you have had moments where you felt bad about yourself when you scrolled through social media? I have, and I still do at times. However, when I do, I put my phone down. I catch that thought and redirect it to "I am ok, I am exactly where I need to be, and I am making progress in life." Some of you may think that's not true for everyone. If you woke up today, you lived another day, and that's progress. It's as simple as that. Also, remember that the person you're comparing yourself to is also doing the same, so don't hate on them too.
I always push self-compassion and self-love because the most lasting change comes from when we accept ourselves for who we and when we feel better about ourselves. As a result, we gain the motivation to change.
Everyone will always have some area of life to work through. It could be our careers, relationships, wellness, friendships, finances, personal development, or spirituality. No one is flawless. Furthermore, people's lives on social media are like 1D compared to 3D which is real life. You only see the digital version of them so don't be fooled and think they have it all figured out. I sure don't. Believe me; everyone is struggling with something. Have compassion for them and yourself.
When you feel uneasy while scrolling, get off and redirect your thought. There's never a wrong time to take a social media break.
