Sounds cliche, right? But it's scientifically proven that deep breathing calms you down. Next time you are angered, upset, panicked, or anxious take long deep breaths. Breathe in for 3 seconds, hold your breath for 3 seconds, and breathe out for 3 seconds. Breathe in from your navel to make sure it is a deep breath. Do this multiple times, and you will start to feel a little bit better.
But don't only do it when you are feeling bad. Taking deep breaths while you are walking and sitting keeps you calm throughout the day. Becoming aware of your breath will change your life. After all, our breath is the one thing that keeps us alive. Let's pay more attention to it!
